How Do You Save a Website to Your iPhone Home Screen?
To save a website to your iPhone home screen, open the site in Safari and tap the Share button — the box with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down in the Share menu and tap Add to Home Screen. Tap Add in the upper right corner. The website will appear as a shortcut icon on your home screen and open with a single tap.
Why Save a Website to Your Home Screen?
If you visit a website regularly — a news feed, a health tracker, a game, a scheduling portal, a local resource — having it one tap away on your home screen saves you the extra steps of opening Safari, navigating to the address, and waiting for the page to load from your browser history.
In this J's Tech Corner video, I use Google News as the example, but this works for any website at all. The shortcut opens the site directly in Safari, always loading the latest version.

How to Add a Website to Your iPhone Home Screen (Step by Step)
Open the Safari app on your iPhone and navigate to the website you want to save. Once the page has loaded, look at the bottom toolbar and tap the Share button — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up out of it.
The Share sheet slides up from the bottom of the screen. Scroll down through the list of options until you see Add to Home Screen. Tap it.
A small screen appears showing a preview of the icon and the name it will use on your home screen. You can edit the name if you want before saving. Tap Add in the upper right corner.
The website shortcut now appears on your iPhone home screen as an icon. Tap it to go directly to the site.
Does It Work for Any Website?
Yes — you can save any website to your home screen this way. The shortcut opens the site in Safari, so it will always load the current version of the page. Some websites are designed as Progressive Web Apps and will behave more like a native app when saved this way — they may open without the Safari toolbar showing.
Can You Delete a Home Screen Website Shortcut?
Yes — just like any app, you can remove a home screen website shortcut by long pressing the icon and tapping Remove Bookmark or Delete Bookmark. This removes the shortcut but does not affect the website itself.
