How Do You Set a Timer from Control Center on iPhone?
To set a timer from Control Center on iPhone, go to Settings → Control Center and add the Timer control. Once added, open Control Center by swiping down from the top right of your screen, tap the Timer button, swipe up or down on the slider to set your time, and tap Start. Your timer begins immediately without opening the Clock app.
Why Use the Control Center Timer?
Most people open the Clock app every time they need to set a timer. The Control Center timer gets you there faster — from any screen, including the lock screen — with a scroll slider that makes it quick to land on the exact time you want.
In this J's Tech Corner video, I show you how to add it and use it. Once you have it set up, you will use it every time.

How to Add the Timer to Control Center (Step by Step)
Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap Control Center. Scroll down to the More Controls section — this is the list of controls you can add. Find Timer in the list and tap the green plus button next to it. Timer will move up into your active controls list.
Now open Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of your screen. You will see the Timer button in your control panel. Tap it and a scroll slider appears. Swipe up to increase the time or down to decrease it. When you have the time you want, tap Start. The timer begins immediately and you can close Control Center without interrupting it.
When the timer finishes, you get an alert. If you need to stop it early, open Control Center and tap the Stop button on the Timer control.
Can You Set Different Timer Lengths from Control Center?
Yes — the slider lets you scroll through time increments to set any duration you need. For more precise control or to set a specific time down to the second, the Clock app still gives you the full interface. But for quick timers — one minute, five minutes, ten minutes — the Control Center slider is much faster.
Does the Timer Work from the Lock Screen?
Yes. Control Center is accessible from the lock screen by default, so you can set and start a timer without unlocking your phone. If Control Center is not available from your lock screen, go to Settings → Face ID & Passcode and make sure Control Center is toggled on under Allow Access When Locked.
